ICC Cricket world cup

"South African cricket legend Herschel Gibbs shares his perspective on Pakistan captain Babar Azam's performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Fakhar Zaman played a brilliant innings with a strike rate of 155.55 keeping in mind the DLS requirements.

On the other hand, Babar Azam managed to score 66 runs off 63 balls at a strike rate of just 104.76.  Had the match not been stopped due to rain, this performance could have put Pakistan in trouble.

Herschel Gibbs tweeted with a humorous comment, Can someone tell Babar Azam that he is chasing 400?

Notably, Pakistan finally kept their semi-final hopes alive by defeating New Zealand by 21 runs under the Duckworth Louis Stern (DLS) method.

After New Zealand posted a massive score of 401-6, Pakistan were 1-160 in the 21st over when rain halted play temporarily.

With a revised target of 342 in 41 overs, Fakhar Zaman had reached 126, and Babar Azam had scored 66 when the rain intervened again.  This time, the match was abandoned, and Pakistan was declared the winner as they were ahead of the required run rate."
