ICC Cricket world cup 2023

In a recent statement from the Foreign Office, the Government of Pakistan has given the go-ahead to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the upcoming ICC Men's World Cup 2023 on October 15.  The decision is rooted in the belief that sport and politics should remain separate, underscoring Pakistan's commitment to fulfilling its international sporting obligations.

Despite adopting a constructive and responsible approach, Pakistan has expressed deep concern regarding security during its cricket team's visit to India.  The government will raise these concerns with both the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Indian authorities, stressing the importance of ensuring the safety and security of the Pakistan cricket team.

Earlier reports indicated that Pakistan will send a delegation including security experts to India to review the security arrangements ahead of the World Cup.  The government is in the process of finalizing the members of the delegation, which will include representatives of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and security agencies.

The highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup is currently scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad.  However, security concerns have arisen due to the date coinciding with the start of Navratri festival, an important celebration in the state of Gujarat, where the game is hosted.

Security agencies have expressed concerns about managing the influx of fans and ensuring their safety during the festival.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has acknowledged these concerns and is exploring alternative options to host the match in view of the potential strain on security resources during Navratri.

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) official mentioned, "We are currently evaluating various options and will arrive at a decision shortly." They explained that security agencies have advised against scheduling a high-profile match such as India vs. Pakistan in Ahmedabad during Navratri due to resource constraints.
