Australian captain Pete Cummins praised Glenn Maxwell's performance in the ICC Cricket Worl

Australian captain Pete Cummins praised Glenn Maxwell's performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.  Maxwell's brilliant double century, an unbeaten 201 off 128 balls with 21 fours and 10 sixes helped Australia to a three-wicket win after struggling at 91-7 chasing a target of 292 runs.

Pete Cummins could not find enough words to describe Maxwell's incredible innings and called it "the greatest ODI innings ever".  Cummins himself played a supporting role, scoring an unbeaten 12 off 68 balls as Australia reached the semi-finals.

Maxwell's performance was nothing short of miraculous as he overcame multiple challenges, including being dropped for 33, battling through pain, and successfully overturning an lbw decision against him at the start of his innings.  Giving is included.  This extraordinary performance came after he was injured after falling off a golf buggy and was ruled out of the previous match against England.

Maxwell, often referred to as 'Big Show', was in exceptional form throughout the tournament, even breaking the record for a 40-ball century before the World Cup.  Despite the challenges faced in the match, Maxwell took pride in making the most of his opportunities and staying not out with Pat Cummins.

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, on the other hand, was stunned by the twists and turns of the game, calling it unbelievable and expressing disappointment at the result.
