About a year after OpenAI's ChatGPT became popular, Elon Musk, who started OpenAI and later left its board, talked about a new model called xAI. He said that he is excited about it and that it is available for many important things.
He also said that xAI's Grok system will soon be available for X Premium+ subscribers, but first, it's in early testing. X, which used to be called Twitter, now has subscription plans. One is $16 per month for an ad-free experience, and the other is a $3 per month basic plan.
Elon Musk, who doesn't always like how big tech companies use AI and what he calls censorship, has said he wants to create an AI that searches for reality. He wants it to compete with Google's Bard and Microsoft's Bing AI.
The xAI team, launched in July, includes experts from Google's DeepMind, Microsoft's parent company, and other leading AI research groups. Although X and xAI are different, they work together. xAI is also working with Tesla and other companies.
Larry Ellison, Oracle co-founder and close friend of Musk, said in September that xAI had signed a contract to train its AI models using Oracle's cloud.
